Professional Commitment of the Ethics Committee:
Starting from October 1st, 2018, prominent scholars in the field of Middle Eastern Studies and History, as well as, Sociology and Anthropology will meet once a year over the course of five years. During and shortly after these mandatory meetings these scholars will write up the Ethics Report on the research activities of the EU funded research project DREAM– „DRafting and Enacting the Revolutions in the Arab Mediterranean. In Search for Dignity – from the 1950s until today.“
Role of the Ethics Committee:
To advise the Researchers of DREAM on a range of ethical issues including, but not limited to, conflicts of interest between researcher and “researched”, including the enforcement of the Ethics and Conflict of Interest Policy of each person liable to and within the research process. The committee will oversee the establishment of research procedures to ensure ethical practices in research, as well as, ethical issues arising in the management and co-ordination of the storage and maintenance of research data. The Ethics Committee will be consulted and give advice for all the Ethics Requirements of the European Commission.
