In the 8th and last session of the DREAM Seminar 2022 “The script of revolt. Writings, consignments, transcriptions in worlds in revolution”, we are pleased to welcome Anne-Marie McManus, Principle investigator of the ERC-funded project SYRASP (The Prison Narratives of Assad’s Syria, Voices, Texts, Publics) hosted at Berlin’s Forum Transregionale Studien.  Her presentation for this session is entitled “What Do Syrian Prison Narratives Do? Reflections on Genre and Documentation from the 1970s to the Present” .

Cécile Boëx, Political Scientist, Lecturer at EHESS Paris (Césor) and Founding member of the ANR SHAKK will discuss and moderate the session which will be held in English.

4 avril 2022, 14h30, Anouk Cohen, “Mettre en forme la vérité : la transformation des témoignages d’anciens prisonniers politiques marocains en archives” [DREAM SEMINAR 2022]

Pour la sixième séance du séminaire semi-public du projet DREAM “Le script de la révolte. Écrits, enregistrements, transcriptions dans les mondes en révolution”, nous sommes heureux·ses d’accueillir Anouk Cohen, Chargée de recherche au CNRS et membre du Laboratoire d’ethnologie et de sociologie comparative (Paris Nanterre). Son intervention dans le cadre du séminaire DREAM s’intitule “Mettre en forme la vérité : la transformation des témoignages d’anciens prisonniers politiques marocains en archives”.

Simon Dubois, Chercheur en sociologie de l’art basé à l’Ifpo à Amman et core-researcher de l’ERC DREAM, discutera et modérera la séance qui se tiendra en ligne (Zoom) et en français.

In the 4th session of the DREAM Seminar 2022 “The script of revolt. Writings, consignments, transcriptions in worlds in revolution”, we are pleased to welcome Teresa Pepe (Associate Professor in Arabic Studies at the University of Oslo) . Her research interests span across Arabic literature, media, popular culture, sociolinguistics, and the relation between aesthetics and politics. Related to her book “Blogging From Egypt: Digital Literature, 2005-2016” (Edinburgh: EUP, 2019) the session entitled “Bytes of Freedom: Literary Blogs in Egypt” will focus on blogs as forms of digital literature emerging in Egypt during the rise of the political protest of the Arab Spring.

Youssef El Chazli, Sociologist Lecturer at the University of Paris 8 (UFR ERITES) and associated researcher at the CEDEJ in Cairo will discuss and moderate the session which will be held in English.
